Equise Corpse Project 2

Hello!

I've been really busy, so I couldn't really blog much about my process on my equise corpse project. I started out by choosing an Art Era that I really enjoyed looking at. POP ART! I really like bright colors and how much they stand out. I began thinking about different Pop Artists and some of their most popular works. I first thought about Andy Warhol and the images of Marilyn Monroe. I thought it would be cool to set up my hand/foot print and alter the colors through photoshop. I kind of thought that has been done over and over again... so I thought about other pop artists. I also really like Roy Lichenstein's work, which looking like it came straight from a comic book. I thought I would challenge myself and scan only my finger print. I repeatedly copied and pasted my finger print and printed it out in various of colors. I arranged finger prints in a way where it looked like Lichenstein's paintings with the dots.

First, I sketched out what I was going to draw. Then, drew it on the poster board and outlined in black paint. After that, I started pasting all the finger prints. I used my original finger print scan for the face of the piece, pink fingerprint for the lips, blue for the eyes, and grey for the telephone. I also incorporated paint in my project to pop out even more colors. I used yellow paint for the hair and black paint for the edges. Yes, I cut and pasted EVERY finger print.

Equisite Corpse Project

Hello!

For my Exquisite Corpse project I chose to represent Pop Art. I like Lichtenstein's comic book paintings. I used one of his works as an inspiration. Below is the painting that inspired me for this project. Check out the next post to see my ideas and progress!

Post Grid Project

Hello!

Everyone's grid projects turned out really cool. All the time working on them really paid off. There were nice suggestions if I would have made my panda differently. Cotton balls would have been an interesting material to work with for the panda's fur, but the feeling of cotton balls give me the chills. I really like the current topic we're in- Pop Art. I like Andy Warhol's work of Marilyn Monroe and other popular works. I like the bright colors and the simplicity of the work. I learned more about Warhol in Modern Art and found his life in general really interesting. I've taken the Modern Art course and was definitely my favorite Art History class.

Finished Grid Project

Hi!

I finished my grid project! Once I got going I couldn't stop. I was actually adding even more than I had to to the project. The grid picture does  not exactly match up, but you still get the idea. I really enjoyed the project and I felt that it was ALOT easier than I thought it was going to be. I really didn't have much trouble doing this project. There's a couple of cheats I've figured out on the way. I made the image on sketch paper, color pencils, and sharpie.

Here's pictures of my progress:

Grids & Pixels

Hello!

I've been noticing a lot of pixels/grid designs! I think it's pretty cool and trendy. I'm actually watching Catfish the Reunion Show. The set is design with pixel designs on the pillars. I thought it looked
really cool!
The picture above is the host and also the Catfish Crew. The show is worth watching because it shows you that you never know who's on the other side of the computer when online chatting.

Another thing I saw on TV was a Jordan Air commercial. This also had a lot of grids and pixels seen on the basketball outfit and also in the effects itself. I thought it was really cool and worth sharing! Try the link below to see the commercial!
